This group is located in the family room of the UNC Rehabilitation building in Hillsborough. Come join this group for conversations and connections!

Instructions for arrival:

Park in the visitor parking lot in front of the hospital
Enter through the front entrance ​
Turn right and take the elevators to the 3rd floor
The Rehab unit is on the right
Press the bell button on the intercom to gain access
Walk to the end of the hall to the Family Lounge

This group is all about sports! They will discuss current events related to sports, favorites, history and engaging discussion. Don’t miss this fun group!

This group is all about telling your own story. Memories are discussed with prompts such as pictures, videos and text.

TAP into the Bible

A multimodal language group with bible study as the focus. Stories, testimonials and discussions support a person’s interest in returning to reading the bible.

 

Our TAP into the Bible group has become one of the most attended TAP group programs, so we’ve added another one.  Join us at 12 noon OR 1pm.

Care Partner Support Group

This virtual group (regular Zoom link) will begin with an invitation for ALL care partners interested in connecting with each other to talk about aphasia.  This is a space for you to share stories, reveal emotions, give and take advice, and discover ways to address your needs.  Depending on attendance, smaller groups will be created based on the type of aphasia impacting your lives.

TAP into Music

This group is led by a Music Therapist and incorporates rhythm, singing, and all things musical to stimulate language and improve aphasia.

Mind Readers

TAP has TWO different Book Clubs: TAP into Reading will increase your confidence while working on reading abilities. Mind Readers will challenge those reading skills.

TAP can help you obtain a digital reader and encourages discussions on all kinds of books from fiction to biographies, etc. A typical book will span over 6-8 weeks, but you can join in anytime.
